Introducing the final adventure site in Rolling Coast!
Descent into Madness is a journey into an unknown sewer. The sewer has no set layout and is a modular dungeon with 20 different rooms that players could potentially explore. Each room is available as a 2x2 item card, and each time players enter a new room, one is drawn at random from the to see where they end up. Passages and walls, also provided as item cards, are then added to each side of the room, showing players which direction they could head next.
Here’s the intro to the adventure:
Beneath the chattering crowds and carousels of Rolling Coast, something old has stirred. In the cracked, fetid tunnels under the parking lot, the Murksnout Syndicate, an outcast rat militia, has awakened a slumbering horror best left forgotten. Now, local mice vanish in the dead of night, snatched from their homes and dragged below. Whispers speak of an ancient hunger pulsing through the pipes, of screams echoing up from the drains, and of armoured rats marching in the dark.
In the park above, foreign items have begun to surface - rusty, mouldy, and sometimes deadly. Even the stublings, animated ticket stubs cursed with sentience by faerie magic, have fled to the safety of the sewers, terrified of the larger creatures who can damage them so easily. If brave adventurers don’t do something soon, whatever waits below may not stay hidden much longer.
