I’m currently hard at work on a new setting for Mausritter where I’m turning this fantastic map by Fernando Salvaterra into a fully-realised setting. It includes details for all 17 locations on the map, including an adventure hook for each one, along with relevant creatures and characters.
Since the map is in landscape format, I thought I’d try out an A5 landscape layout for this module. So far, it’s coming along really well!
At this stage, I’ve written and laid out all the location details. Next up, I need to work on encounters and other exploration mechanics, then write stat blocks for the 44 creatures and characters that make the locations interesting to explore. Now that I count them up, I see that’s a lot of stat blocks
Here’s a preview of what I’m working on - these are A5 landscape spreads:
I’ve started working on the bestiary for this (48 stats blocks in total!), and I’m using some art from the recently published Illustrated Bestiary for Cairn for the creatures.
I’ve now added items, spells, factions, and more to this, and I feel like it’s almost ready to make available!
I just need to firm up some of the content, and I’ll be able to publish it soon. I’m also going to make it available in print from Lulu, but with so much colour and such beautiful artwork, the printing costs are quite high, so I’m trying to see what I can do to make it as affordable as possible.
I’ve ordered a proof of the hardcover for this, so waiting on that to arrive. In the meantime, I’ve also designed Whiskerwind Hollow themed character sheets:
