Hey, it's Vijay!

Hey everyone!

I’m Vijay - unlike others on here, I’ve never published anything, at least not yet - I’ve been working on an Indian themed setting for Mausritter for what seems like forever (I’m British-Indian). But IRL keeps intruding.

I tend to run Mausritter pbp, but it gets slowww - do tell me if you’ve found a solution to that. Happy to swap tips!

Also please say if I can actually play - I’ve become a forever GM and would love to actually play a game!

Welcome Vijay! Great to have you have here :slight_smile:

This is something I’ve been thinking of doing in this community - using a topic in this forum to run the game - only have a set number of players, but anyone can watch along. I’m scared to start it though, because I know maintaining a PBP game can be difficult :smile:

I know exactly what you mean with IRL intruding! Your work on the setting is excellent so far, and I’d love to see more of it coming together :slight_smile: What I did for Kiwi Acres, was release it bit-by-bit, so at first it was just a keyed hexcrawl, and then I published other features later on. That’s sometimes a good way to go about it, to give you the external push to get things done.

Yeah, I saw the topic - I’ll probably start a thread later today because I’m masochistic like that :laughing:
Are there any dice bots on here?

That’s a really good idea - I’ve got enough to release a basic hexcrawl, so I guess time to format that & put it on itch to see the response & feedback! Thanks Hugh!

If you want to start a PBP game in the Tiny Tails community, please do! You have full permission! The Play together category is best for it.

There’s a basic dice roller built in - it can handle multiples of dice, like 1d20, 2d6, etc., but not more complex things like 1d20+5, for example. You can get it by asking @discobot to roll for you.

Like this:

@discobot roll 2d6

:game_die: 1, 1

Well…that was a bad roll :smile:

how about: @discobot roll 3d20

I managed to implement a much better dice roller!

All you need to do is mention the user @dice and specify what the roll should be. The roller will respond to you with the roll result. It can handle most things you would need, and you can get it to roll multiple times by adding each one to a new line.

For example (I hope this works :sweat_smile:):

@dice d6
3d6
d20+4

Rolling d6:

:game_die: 1

Rolling 3d6:

:game_die: 3 + 6 + 5 = 14

Rolling d20+4:

:game_die: 5 + 4 = 9

I’ll document how that works and make a new topic about it :slight_smile:
