It’s been a month or two since we caught up with Eared and Kester, so let’s recap where the story is at so far! _[You can read the full story in order here](https://tinytails.community/c/ongoing-adventure/12), or read the summary below._ * * * [Eared Grant is a merchant](https://tinytails.community/t/the-adventures-of-eared-grant-purveyor-of-human-artefacts-eareds-journey-1/48/), travelling with his faithful servant, Kester. [They arrived at Rolling Coast](https://tinytails.community/t/entering-rolling-coast-eareds-journey-2/177/) where they were attacked and beaten up by some members of the Packratz gang. All of their things were stolen except Eared’s sling, some rations, and a 20p IOU note from a noblemouse who lives somewhere in the park. The Packratz now have all his gear as well as the wares he was planning on selling. After exploring a little and [visiting the Oily Olive bar in Snackburg](https://tinytails.community/t/exploring-snackburg-eareds-journey-3/190), Eared [took a job](https://tinytails.community/t/taking-a-job-maybe-eareds-journey-4/200/) to stop food being hijacked that should have made its way to the Spicy Rooster restaurant. Eared and Kester [followed a suspicious-looking rat](https://tinytails.community/t/following-a-suspicious-rat-eareds-journey-5/212/) and, after seeing the rat take a sack of food from one of his companions, [they entered into combat](https://tinytails.community/t/eared-sees-some-combat-eareds-journey-6/220/) and defeated him! Eared [took mercy on the rat](https://tinytails.community/t/voting-open-what-to-do-with-this-rat-eareds-journey-7/224/) and brought him to the Spicy Rooster to see what information they could get from him. It turns out the rat’s name is Gendol and he’s a soldier for the Packratz, but he isn’t loyal to his gang. [He revealed some information](https://tinytails.community/t/voting-open-what-to-do-with-this-rat-eareds-journey-7/224) about internal politics in the gang, and Eared has decided to trust Gendol and work with him to infiltrate the Packratz and somehow retrieve his gear and his wares. ### The stats for the current characters in the story are: > **Eared Grant, merchant** > 3hp, STR 12, DEX 10, WIL 9 > **Attacks:** d6 sling & stones (light ranged) > **Kester, packrat hireling** > 3hp, STR 6, DEX 12, WIL 8 > **Attacks:** d6/d8 cocktail sword (medium melee) > **Gendol Kage, foot soldier for the Packratz** > 5hp, STR 10, DEX 13, WIL 9 > **Attacks:** d4 paws (no equipped weapon) _The cocktail sword wielded by Kester was taken from Gendol after their fight, leaving Gendol unarmed._ ### _Now read on to find out what happens and vote on the next step in the story…_ The story continues!
